ABOUT US

Our Story

In the heart of the Quad Cities region lies a vibrant, resilient, and ever-growing community, one built on the principles of love, acceptance, and unity. The Quad Cities Pride Alliance (QCPA) was founded to uplift and empower LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies throughout our area by providing connection, education, support, and celebration.

Where We Began

Though our beginnings were humble, our vision was bold: to form a non-profit organization open to all persons in the region, driven by the belief that every person deserves respect, safety, and the freedom to be who they are. From the start, we set out to create a space where people could find resources, support, and community without fear or judgment.

WHAT WE DO...

Our mission is to unify and serve the LGBTQIA+ community through a range of meaningful efforts:

  • Educational programs to raise awareness and foster understanding

  • Leadership development opportunities to help community members grow

  • Connections to local resources (health, advocacy, mental wellness, etc.)

  • Peer support to remind people they are never alone

  • Community events that celebrate identity, culture, and pride

We also strive to build alliances across the Quad Cities, responding to requests for partners, volunteers, and event support. When other local organizations seek collaboration, QCPA steps up.

Through our affiliation with Out & Proud in the QCA, we further extend our reach and network, joining forces with organizations aligned in mission across the region.

OUR VALUES & VISION

At our core, we believe in:

  • Inclusivity — making space for every identity, intersectionality, and story

  • Empowerment — helping people grow in confidence and leadership

  • Community — forming real connections that carry beyond events

  • Education & Awareness — combating stigma through knowledge

  • Sustainability & Resilience — building a legacy that lasts

We envision a future where every LGBTQ+ individual in the Quad Cities can live openly, safely, and with pride, supported by allies, understood by neighbors, and woven into the broader fabric of our region.
